Elena Rein is a Program Associate supporting projects across Pivot’s portfolios. Her experience in project coordination comes from over two years at American Institutes for Research (AIR), where she managed large-scale research studies. There, Elena’s work focused on early childhood, including creating parenting resources for math skill development in toddlers and evaluating California’s Transitional Kindergarten program. Elena has significant qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis experience and has summarized study findings for reports, presentations, and blog posts. Prior to AIR, Elena volunteered at the International Rescue Committee, where she worked directly with refugees to find employment and held an internship with Disability Rights Advocates organizing media coverage. Elena is an Oakland native and graduated with Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Wesleyan University. She wrote her capstone paper on the overrepresentation of minority students in special education.
