Priyanka Kaura believes that youth are experts of their own lives and their envisioned futures. As a researcher, her goal is to gather existing knowledge from the field and translate it into a format that will amplify its power.
Priyanka is an experienced educator, facilitator and researcher. Prior to her time at Pivot, she taught 5th and 7th grade ELA, tutored ESL to immigrant newcomers, and worked in education technology. Priyanka’s time in the classroom instilled a deep commitment to transforming the way our systems work for youth. Her research and practitioner work has taken her from Pittsburgh to Sweden, Brooklyn, Boston, India, and now Oakland.
In her spare time, Priyanka enjoys reading, exploring the outdoors, and practicing the cooking and language that connects her to her Punjabi heritage. Priyanka earned her BPhil in Sociology and Economics from the University of Pittsburgh, her Master in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education, and her Master in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School.
