Pivot Learning Launches District Readiness Index: The First Tool to Connect Organizational Health to Student Results
As recent NAEP scores have made clear, districts everywhere face an urgent need to recover from the pandemic and accelerate learning. Pivot Learning’s new research-based tool, the District Readiness Index (DRI), launched today, demonstrates that some districts are far better positioned to do so. The DRI identifies a set of key organizational factors that determine a district’s readiness to improve student outcomes over the long-term.
NAEP shows how much learning America needs to make up. Some districts are better positioned than others.
“Today’s NAEP results, though unsurprising, are devastating. Every thoughtful voice in the country is talking about the enduring, substantial efforts that will be needed to recover. Based on new research, which will be presented in a report in November, five characteristics distinguish districts with stronger learning outcomes: family and community engagement; strong financial management; exemplary leadership and governance; high-performing school personnel; and a positive work environment. If districts are serious about getting kids back on track, they need to be serious about the core foundations that influence their work. Knowing these factors can help.”
