Business Development Associate

We are currently seeking a Business Development Associate to support the operations of our business development work. The ideal candidate can interact positively with clients to help bring deals over the finish line, while remaining focused on key performance metrics and managing data entry into our current business development operational systems. This is an ideal role for someone who wants to play an integral part in directly contributing to the ongoing growth and evolution of our team’s systems. Candidates must have extensive experience using Salesforce, and also be ready to provide and implement regular recommendations for process improvements.

This is a full-time, Exempt position, reporting to a Senior Manager.  Candidates for this position can be based anywhere in the US, and this position will be based from your own home office. Pivot and CORE are both headquartered in Oakland, CA, however, all staff work remotely.  Future travel (car and air) may be required for this role, for team events and trainings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development Operational Support Work with program leaders to create a repeatable operations process from quote to deal close to entry of services rendered; Support the program team using Salesforce with process improvement, measurement, tracking and analytics relevant to their functional areas. Work with the Senior Manager to price client proposals, enter proposals into Salesforce, and improve business development tracking and performance.
  • Education Services Team Support Work with the Education Services team to support client deliverables including materials ordering logistics, online program setup, and consultant management; Work with finance team to support billing, revenue, and consultant transactions.
  • Client Engagement Facilitate deal funnel development, including reaching out to clients or internal engagement managers to ensure potential deals are moving forward. Communicate with clients on deliverable timelines and respond to various requests.
  • Data Entry and Reporting Track and analyze key metrics including pipeline growth, win/loss rates, and quota attainment; Work with finance team on revenue and pipeline reporting including dashboard and Salesforce report creation.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience with Salesforce. Experience working in sales operations, and a solid understanding of what strong systems to support sales funnels look like.
  • Strong commitment to, and demonstrated record of success with, high quality client engagement and support
  • Experience collecting, organizing, managing, and analyzing data.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across Growth, Education Services, and Finance teams. Able to work and communicate well with varied stakeholders, internally and externally.
  • A proactive, highly self-directed working style, yet a strong focus on collaboration with colleagues.
  • Solid project management skills, including the capacity to develop plans and manage resources and the ability to prioritize, organize, and handle multiple tasks with a high level of attention to detail and efficiency.
  • Reliable, dependable, professional, and positive with strong problem-solving skills and mindsets.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and equivalent Google programs (e.g. Drive, Sheets).
  • K-12 Education sector experience preferred but not required.
