About the Organization

In partnership with our subsidiary, The Consortium on Reaching Excellence in Education (CORE), we provide expert technical assistance and professional development for PreK-12 literacy and mathematics programs.  Our evidence-based model supports the implementation of rigorous instruction based on scientific evidence in English Language Arts and Mathematics, MTSS, Dyslexia, and English learners.  We work with educators and administrators at all grade levels, district personnel, and state departments of education to build system-wide capacity for sustained improvement.

About the Position

We are currently seeking an Educational Services  Associate to support and coordinate projects as part of our program Operations team. The ideal candidate would be passionate about and committed to CORE’s mission to ensure a rigorous, relevant, and inclusive public education for all students by developing instructional coherence and improving teaching and learning. Candidates should have solid project management, organizational, and communication skills, and the ideal candidate would have experience in or working with K-12 schools, districts, or other education-focused organizations. They would have strong interpersonal and customer service skills and experience maintaining positive relationships with internal and external partners.

This is a full-time, Exempt position, reporting to CORE’s Senior Director of Operations. Candidates for this position can be based anywhere in the US, and this position will be based from your own home office. CORE is headquartered in Oakland, CA, however, all staff work remotely. Periodic travel will be required for this role, for team events and trainings (estimate 4-5 times per year).

Key Responsibilities 

  • Consultant Scheduling Support. Manage the scheduling of CORE consultants. This includes contacting and confirming consultants for specific projects; sending contracts and other client service information to consultants; and maintaining and updating training and service delivery data in Salesforce and master calendar.
  • Online Training Support. Provide administrative support for CORE’s Online Elementary Reading and Math Academy programs. This includes collaborating with Educational Services managers to set event dates and select facilitators; coordinating with the Marketing team for advertisement and communication of events; managing and processing event registrations.
  • Administrative Support. This includes managing CORE voicemail and various email inboxes; providing travel and event assistance to the team; approving consultant timecards; managing service follow-up report collection and associated communication.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

An understanding of the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities. Experience living or working in high poverty communities, or a deep understanding of issues impacting such communities.
  • Strong commitment to high quality customer service and support of our clients. Extreme detail orientation.
  • Solid project management skills, including the capacity to develop plans and manage resources and the ability to prioritize, organize, and handle multiple tasks with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Experience collecting, organizing, managing, and analyzing operational data.
  • Exceptional communication skills (writing, speaking, and listening).
  • A proactive, highly self-directed working style, yet a strong focus on collaboration with colleagues.
  • Reliable, dependable, professional, and positive with strong problem-solving skills and mindsets.
  • High capacity and efficiency with assigned work.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and equivalent Google programs (e.g. Drive, Sheets). Working knowledge of common project management tools, like Asana, or willingness to learn. Proficient in online tools like Salesforce, Box, etc. a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of relevant work experience.

Compensation and Benefits

401k contribution, vacation leave, sick leave, and 15 paid holidays. This role has a starting annual salary range between $63,000-72,000.
